Ezinne “Naye” Proclaven. An ordinary citizen from the area of Mid-Ourna on the planet El-Bayna. A young cybernetics engineer with a burgeoning future.
Naye has always loved technology, building her own crude androids at a very young age. She always had a natural flair for AI programming and coding. When she landed her dream job at G And Aard, a technology and cybernetics company, her life felt complete.
A well-paying job, doing what she loved, helping to create and develop the next generation of truly intelligent androids. Ushering in a new technological age alongside Mabior, the supreme leader of the Golkann people. Not only working for a company she’s always wanted to work for, but landing one of the top positions there.
Then, in an instant, everything changed…
She became pregnant from a brief affair with a co-worker and she saw her body change beyond the usual effects of pregnancy. Something unusual was happening to her, and she didn’t know what it was.
Beings claiming they were from heaven invaded her planet. As the entire globe fell apart, she lost her best friend in the chaotic crowds and was left alone in the world with her child.
No friends, family, place of employment or home. Ezinne was left to survive by herself, as one half of the population fled to the underground cities of protection and the other half braved the surface to try their luck. Just her, and her new-born baby trying to find shelter, while a religious war waged around her between the Osihlians and the Golkanns. Add to all of that an invasion from above,
As each day passed, she felt her body continue to change. She felt a newfound strength and discovered she had growing unusual abilities. She called them the results of a disease, others called them ‘powers’
The supreme leader of the Osihlian people, The Prophet Stuk’aith, spoke of a “false” prophet in his religious texts. The written revelations he received from God, writing:
“And the lord spoke, his voice thunderous with anger! He told me, oh prophet! There will be a false prophet who appears in the last days. This prophet will perform miracles, they will fight back against my angels and attempt to destroy you! Prophet Stuk’aith! Tell your people to fight back against this prophet! They will defile my name and seek to bring down the Osihlian nation!”
Stuk’atih believed Naye was this prophet, Naye believes Stuk’aith is crazy. Yet still, she cannot explain what is happening to her.
As her powers became more evident. One half of the people of the planet saw her as some kind of saviour. The other half saw her as a false pretender (as Stuk’aith predicted in his religious books) out to destroy their prophet and religion.
Naye just sees herself as a parent, trying to escape this madness.
As her world falls, she must make a choice to fight for her people and an entire planet, or flee to safety and protect her child. She has to make this decision fast, before fate decides for her.
